Drumroll, please! After much planning and consideration, we have some exciting news to share about HPM Hilo. Starting November 6th, we will begin renovations on our Hilo branch as part of a multi-year investment plan to improve the facilities for our owner-employees and customers.

This current building has been serving our community since 1996, when it first opened as a "Do It Best" store. In 2013, 10 years ago, the store was rebranded to the current HPM green look. Now in 2024, we are thrilled to begin another round of renovations and upgrades as part of our long-term investment in this store.

The first phase of renovations through April 2024 will focus on updating the store's front facade with new lifestyle banners, a covered walkway to the Home Design Center, and details to connect the two buildings. 

Here are some of our plans:

• Reroofing the lumber warehouse and retail store
• Renovating the lumberyard to add a drive-thru option
• Remerchandising and refreshing the interior of the retail store
• Updating systems like the sewage system to improve operations

We know construction can cause inconveniences, so we want to provide a heads-up on what to expect for your shopping experiences over the next few of months during the first phase of our renovation:

• The store entrance near the Pro desk will be the designated handicapped customer entrance during renovations.
• The Pro Paint and Lumberyard entrances will remain open. However, there will be no through-traffic between the Home Design Center and the main store.
• Food trucks will suspend operations starting in November 2023.
• Additional disruptions may occur; stay tuned to our social channels (Instagram, Facebook) for updates.

We aim to minimize disruptions over the next few years as we make exciting upgrades to our Hilo location! Mahalo for your patience and understanding. We can't wait to reveal our fresh, new look and improved shopping experience.
