HPM’s Role in the Construction Stage

Our Services

During the construction phase, HPM offers a range of services to assist every step of the way. Whether you’ve chosen to use HPM-manufactured products or special-order your finish materials, we will assist you and your builder with finalizing selections, placing orders, scheduling deliveries, and more. Our sales representatives are available to answer questions and help you decide on your desired HPM materials. We’ll also coordinate delivery schedules and different loads of materials.

Special Orders

We’re very flexible with integrating special-ordered finish materials into our designs! That includes cabinets, countertops, lighting, flooring and more. We understand everyone’s aesthetics and tastes are different. We want to provide you with affordable options that get you excited about your completed home.

With special orders, keep in mind that not only does everything need to be shipped to Hawai‘i but also to your island. As a result, prices and options vary by island. We’ll work with you and your builder to facilitate the process of finding materials outside the scope of our standard package home finishes.

Our HPM Homes come with a variety of traditional finishes, including cabinets, countertops, lighting, and flooring, in three tiers (good, better and best). So you have choices among the standard materials included in a home package, though we also offer the option for special orders. Your Role in the Construction Stage

Stay in Touch With Your Builder

We aim to keep the building process on track and provide support when needed. While your builder, contractor and subcontractors will take on the construction from here, we encourage you to stay in touch with them to get updates on the progress made and any issues that might come up. Be transparent, communicative and consistent. A lot of new homeowners worry about stepping on the toes of builders, contractors or subcontractors. But remember, it’s your home! You have a right to check in on the construction process at every phase.

Set deadlines for different aspects of the build, but trust your contractor to meet those milestones. Keep accurate financial records as well. Lastly, adhere to all safety requirements and regulations while interacting with contractors.
