HPM Foundation Awards College Scholarships to Nine Students on Hawaii Island, Oahu and Kauai

The HPM Foundation has awarded $1,000 and $750 college scholarships to seven recent high school graduates and two Hawaii Community College students to help with upcoming college expenses and support student success.

2020 Barney S. Fujimoto Memorial Scholarship Recipients
Since 1973, the HPM Foundation has awarded the Barney S. Fujimoto Memorial Scholarship in memory of Barney S. Fujimoto, a second-generation leader of HPM Building Supply who held very strong convictions about the merits of higher education. Scholarship recipients receive $1,000 and are selected based on academic excellence and a history of strong community service, and must be enrolled full-time at a University of Hawaii System school.

  • Kiana Aniu recently graduated from Kamehameha Schools Hawaii on the island of Hawaii and will be majoring in kinesiology & exercise
    science at the University of Hawaii at Hilo.
  • Lehua Cambra recently graduated from Kohala High School on the island of Hawaii and will be majoring in psychology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
  • Kukamaehumakakoaokalani Inaba recently graduated from Kamehameha Schools Kapalama on the island of Oahu and will be majoring in exploratory business at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
  • Kyra Anna Martinez recently graduated from Waipahu High School on the island of Oahu and will be majoring in nursing at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
  • Allana Pinoliar recently graduated from Kapaa High School on the island of Kauai and will be attending the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
  • Kai Takahashi recently graduated from Kalaheo High School on the island of Oahu and will be attending the University of Hawaii at Hilo.
  • Kahlia Takushi recently graduated from Honokaa High School on the island of Hawaii and will be majoring in psychology at Hawaii Community College.

2020 Building Future Builders' Scholarship Recipients

The Building Future Builders' Scholarship is given to two select students in the Hawaii Community College Carpentry program. Each recipient receives a $750 scholarship for their second year in the program.

  • Rayson Domingo graduated from Laupahoehoe Community Public Charter School on the island of Hawaii and is in his second year of the carpentry program at Hawaii Community College.
  • Alyssa McKeague graduated from Connections Charter School on the island of Hawaii is in her second year of the carpentry program at Hawaii Community College.
